2RKS ARCHITECTS SYDNEY

Sydney Architects 2RKS Architecture + Design was originally founded in New York City in April 1997. Founding principal and architect, Richard Salman wanted simply to create a firm where clients can have excellence in design and have control in where their money is spent. Coupling this notion with his experiences with large firms, Richard wanted to bring this idea together with small firm ideology where the principal is directly accessible and accountable to their clients. This gave rise to project appointments from some notable clients in NYC districts such as Madison Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Tribecca and the World Trade Center.

Richard’s prior experience with corporate firms gave rise to the opportunity to live abroad and design large scale retail projects in the USA, Europe and Australia. Having this experience with understanding and use of local context, design philosophy and local collaboration, Richard used this notion while building up 2RKS Architects over the years and expanded into the retail architecture and hospitality architecture areas.

In April 2003, New York based 2RKS Architecture + Design closed its doors and Richard and his family migrated to Australia, Sydney. Today, 2RKS Sydney Architects carries on delivering personal attention to every project, keeping its original philosophy of integrity and accountability.
